July 2009 Campout Meetinng Minutes

Lazy Day RV Park, Montgomery City
July 10-12, 2009

ATTENDEES: Rich & Gail Baker, Warren & Sue Cutright, Ed Brandon & Keith Gillilan, Curt & Verna Gillilan, Rex & Martha Goodson, Lester & Grace Mooney, Ted & Norma Stahlhuth, guests Shirley and Jerry Oshaunasy (former members and forgive me for misspelling). Thanks to Warren and Sue and Ed and Keith for hosting the weekend with lots of good food.

Roo’s Meeting:
• Opened meeting with pledge to the flag.
• Treasury Report by Norma: $388.07. Norma will replace some needed supplies.
• Old Business: Grace received ballot from Bounders United Secretary and voted for Jim Ballard for President and Betty Schneider as Secretary. These were the only names on the ballot. Corrected minutes to read Ed and Keith as helping host July instead of Jack. Grace forgot to call possible new members from list received from BU. Will try again before August campout. Check our blog site: www.heartlandroos.blogspot.com Thanks to Ernie Ward for creating site—good job.
• Warren gave update on the following members: Wayne and Linda James have been traveling a lot in their new motor coach and want to continue to be notified of campout locations and dates. Dorene Jansen is doing OK with more chemo treatments; continue to pray for her healing. Jack Backowski was in the hospital with knee problems as a result of a fall in May. Don Smith has had knee surgery and rotator cuff surgery (I think) and problems with vertigo; pray for both Don and Jack’s rapid recovery as well.
• August campout will be at Riverview RV Park in Osage Beach, Aug. 14-16. A $25 deposit should be sent to Norma Stahlhuth (check made to Norma) no later than Aug. 1st so she can submit to Riverview as requested a week prior to the campout. FYI: Norma and Ted’s 50th anniversary in August. 14th.
• Discussion on status of club as a Bounder club resulted in motion by Lester, seconded by Rex, to discontinue our Bounder affiliation and be an independent club. Individuals can still belong to BU.
• President Warren asked for volunteers for officers for 2010. The following slate was proposed for election in October. President – Ernie Ward, V.P. – Lester Mooney, Secretary/Treasurer – Gail Baker. Anyone else interested should make their desire known and can be put on the ballot in October.
• Motion was made by Lester and seconded by Sue to retain the name of Heartland Roos as club name. Motion carried.
• Meeting adjourned.

We missed those who have been unable to attend and hope you can be there in August. Warren and Sue will not be able to attend in August. It was good to have Sue out and about even though she gets tired easily. Warren had also been sick but recovered enough to be with us by Friday. Happy travels and good health to all.

Grace Mooney
